Thomas Street, Dublin
In ancient times, it was Slighe Mor, one of the all-Ireland routes that met at the Liffey crossing of Ath Claith. Named after the nearby Augustinian Friary of St Thomas a Beckett founded in 1177 by order of King Henry II.
